"Talent for Space" Forum at Vernadsky University

Anna Yakusheva, a radar remote sensing data analyst, presented a project titled "Neural Network Methods for SAR Data Analysis: From Arctic Monitoring to Agricultural Applications." The talk was well received, with the audience praising both the promise of the field and Anna's ability to make complex material accessible.

Talent for Space Forum

In her talk, Anna pointed out that traditional monitoring methods have real limitations, especially in the Arctic. She proposed using radar satellites, which can observe the Earth's surface in any weather and at any time of day. Such satellites can track ground subsidence, ice movement, and building deformation with high precision. Neural networks extend the reach of these methods even further — for example, to monitoring soil moisture and field conditions in agriculture.
