On March 26, Saint Petersburg University of the State Fire Service of EMERCOM hosted a scientific and practical conference on environmental and technosphere safety in the Arctic. L5 was represented by Dmitry Monakhov, the company's CEO, who spoke at the event, along with Alexandra Melnik, Vera Gorodilina, and Anastasia Petrushina as co-authors of the paper. Together they produced the company's first scientific publication, "Capabilities of Operational Satellite Radar Imaging at Survey and Ultra-High Resolution for Ensuring Shipping Safety and Economic Activity in Northern Latitudes."
The conference was held in the EMERCOM Academy building, which impressed everyone with its grandeur: distinctive Saint Petersburg architecture, an honor guard at the entrance, and a grand staircase inside reserved for formal receptions.
The team ran into a few minor organizational hiccups along the way, but quick thinking and professionalism kept things on track. Dmitry got the key ideas across to the audience without getting bogged down in technical detail, and the guests' interest was clear.
After the main session, the CEO was interviewed on the topic of the presentation, while the rest of the team was given a fascinating tour of the EMERCOM Academy building, its laboratories, and the local museum.
The conference offered plenty of opportunities for professional growth and new connections. It was a productive, memorable event, and we're looking forward to seeing our paper published in the conference proceedings.
